Weight Loss Information

CHAPTER 1
-You Already Know Everything!

You Do!

Weight Loss Information is very easy to come by and chances are if you are reading this that you have also read tons of other websites, books, magazine articles and TV programs all downloading thier diet info into your brain.

For Example:

You know that you need to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

You know to stay away from the 'bad carbs' like sugar, candy, soda etc... and to eat more 'good carbs' like whole grains, sweet potatos, rice etc...

You know to eat lower fat protein foods like fish, poultry (turkey and chicken) and lean beef and to stay away from higher fat protein foods like regular beef, tripe, liver, pork etc...

You know you should NOT overeat either at any one meal nor in total calories throughout the day.

SO WHY CAN'T YOU LOSE WEIGHT??

Read on! The next few chapters will spell it out for you clear as day.

Before we go on though, there is one thing you may NOT know that you will NEED to know about losing weight and permanent fat loss. Something that will be repeated on every page so that you will remember:

In order for a Diet to work LONG-TERM it MUST satisfy 2 criteria:

1- It must be a diet that is healthy for you. One containing carbs, fats, protein, plenty of fruits and veggies and a 'tad' of junk food for sanity reasons.

2- It must be a diet that can be reasonably sustained for the REST of YOUR LIFE! What does that mean? Although I can 'reasonably sustain' pizza and ice cream for the rest of my life (and enjoy the hell out of it) it breaks rule #1. So what can be reasonably sustained? That depends on your culture, tastes etc... but a good example would be foods like chicken, turkey, fish, rice, potatos, pasta, veggies, cereal, sandwiches, etc. Therefore Diets that have you eating only meat and cheese and low-carbs, or lots of carbs but low-fat, or any combination of the 3 macronutrients (protein, carbs, fats) that are out of balance with each other will never really be able to be sustained. They can work short-term but what then?

SOLID WEIGHT LOSS TIP:

One of the biggest threats to our health is cardiovascular disease. LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels used to be the measuring stick for cardiovascular risk. However, recent studies have indicated that elevated C-Reactive protein (CRP) levels - which measure inflammation - may be a better indicator of one's risk for heart attack and stroke.

What can you do to lower your CRP? It sounds familiar, but if you reduce your intake of saturated fats, exercise regularly, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, stop smoking and lose excess weight, your CRP levels should fall, along with your risk of heart disease.
