... do it in Style!
I know that I'm supposed to say that you shouldn't overeat but the truth is that most of us do and will at some point(s), even when starting a new diet plan. So instead of feeling bad about it I say go for it. You can't fight the urges forever and with emotional eating that can be almost everyday.
The only condition I have is that you make it as healthy as possible while still tasting great and giving you the enjoyment and flavor you crave. So, instead of cookies, cake and junk like that try the following examples:
- Bake your own fresh whole grain bread (or buy it) and put on butter and good cheese or make a grilled cheese with those better quality ingredients.
- Eat potatoes with sour cream and cheese.
- Have a huge salad with your favorite cheese or with a high fat dressing you love with bacon bits and croutons etc.
- Use fruit as sweeteners on pancakes made with whole wheat flour, eggs and milk (homemade) or use apple sauce.
- Bake your own cookies or sweet breads using milk, flour, eggs, butter and cut as much sugar out of it as you can while still enjoying it.
- Make a nice big tasty sandwich with mayo and mustard and cheese and steak etc...
- Popcorn with real butter.
There's tons more ways to do this and if any of you have suggestions please email me and I'll post it above.
Now obviously it's better not to overeat but if you are going to then the best way to do it is as healthy as possible. Make sure to honestly satisfy your cravings and don't feel bad about it. This way you are taking in foods that give you much much more nutrition than junk food and you'll probably not gain all that much and, as a matter of fact, you may even lose a bit of weight by keeping your overeating in the healthy or healthier zone. Now, I'm assuming here that you already overeat from time to time and that you would be replacing the junk with the healthier alternatives I mentioned above. If you presently do not overeat then this page is not for you and I do not recommend you start.
You'll never here a diet guru say what I just did but then again most are not in touch with real people.
Don't feel bad, have some fun with food and slowly make yourself better and better.
