CHAPTER 2
-The First Obstacle to Weight Loss

Losing Weight is Hard!

Having a well thought out Diet Plan sounds easy, and is the first key to success but try following through. Look at Oprah Winfrey, try as she has to lose weight with all her money and personal trainers and chefs and voodoo preistess' flown in from Haiti, she still wasn't able to do it consistently. - Her problem is the second obstacle but we'll get into that later.
**For the last 3 years she has been able to lose weight and she follows a diet similar to the plan outlined on this site.

First Obstacle:

Arranging your day and planning your meals so weight loss can occur. **Read What I Eat Here.

The hardest part is that you HAVE to do it EVERY single day. Day in and day out trying to overcome the inertia of your daily eating habits - something that is usually futile in the end.

Also, the world moves fast, so YOU move fast. There is NO TIME. You are already in debt time-wise. Somewhere, there is a bank that holds time instead of money and even it moves fast:

You have no time, yet you have to MAKE time somehow to prepare all your meals in advance, go shopping every week and eat your meals on time throughout the day consistently.

The Cards Seem Stacked Against You...

Read on! The next chapter will overcome this EASILY.

Before we go on though, I told you last chapter that you will NEED to know something about losing weight and that I would repeat it on every page so that you will remember:

In order for a Diet to work in the LONG-RUN it MUST satisfy 2 criteria:

1- It must be a diet that is healthy for you.

2- It must be a diet that can be reasonably sustained for the REST of YOUR LIFE! Don't forget this!

So, to conclude what you know so far:

You need to eat healthy, reasonable portions throughout the day. No overeating or binging. AND, this effort must be sustained every day or else the 'weight fairy' will hunt you down and feed you cheesecake while you sleep!

Don't quit yet...it gets better.

SOLID WEIGHT LOSS TIP:

Did you know pessimism has been linked to a higher risk of dying before age 65? On the other hand, expressing positive emotions, such as optimism, is associated with a variety of health benefits: lowered production of the stress hormone cortisol, better immune function, and reduced risk of chronic diseases. If you are stressed-out or anxious, and tend to become negative when in this state of mind, try the following:

  • Take care of yourself by eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly and getting adequate sleep.
  • Express your emotional reactions honestly so you can effectively deal with what's bothering you.
  • Confide in someone - your mate, a good friend or a trusted relative.
  • View the cup as half full instead of half empty.
