Tenet # 3 - It Must Be Healthy for You

If you're trying a new diet one of the first things you have to look at is whether or not it's healthy for you. For example, grapefruit is healthy but eating that all day and only that is not because it doesn't give you complete nutrition. Now those high fat all meat diets do provide lots of nutritents but also too much fat, protein and other junk that isn't good for you.

Remember tenet # 1 that says your diet should be for life so if it's not going to be healthy then what's the point? You may find something that may not be too healthy but works. A diet that takes some weight off but once you stop you'll just go back to up to your previous weight and back and forth you go which is called yo-yoing.

If you decide to stay on an unhealthy diet then you may look good for awhile but it will catch up to you. What's the point of being slim if you feel horrible or get sick often or end up in hospital or even ....

So making your diet one that is healthy for you is the third tenet and is also common sense. In the articles to come on the home page I'll be referring to these 3 tenets over and over as they are the foundation of a solid overall weight loss plan. More to come.
